A research internship in the LMU Forschungsmodul Medizin investigating TRPM ion channels (melastatin-related TRP channel family, TRPM1-8) and their roles in the regulation of cytoplasmic divalent cations and cellular/body homeostasis of Zn2+, Mg2+ and Ca2+, whose dysfunction leads to human diseases. Techniques include patch-clamp, molecular and cell biological methods, and knockout mouse models; the aim is to explore these ion channels as potential targets for the treatment of various diseases. One internship place is offered; Principal Investigator: Vladimir Chubanov (General Pharmacology and Toxicology).
