A materials-science student research group studying the mechanical integrity of multilayer solid-electrolyte structures. This X-Student Research Project investigates the mechanical stability of ceramic solid electrolytes (e.g., LLZO) with multilayer architectures, focusing on how dense-porous interfaces influence crack initiation and propagation under mechanical loading. Students fabricate bilayer pellets, characterize microstructure and interfaces using microscopy, and analyze crack behavior via nano/microindentation; selected electrochemical tests and structured literature analysis complement the experimental work.
