Anthropological Teaching in the GDR: Critical Exploration of the Hans Grimm Teaching Image Collection

Academic Research Opportunity

An interdisciplinary student research project (X-Student Research Group) that explores the previously unexamined teaching image collection of anthropologist Hans Grimm (1955–1975), comprising around 6,000 slide images from the Medical Humanities collection at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Using the partially digitized teaching image collection, associated archival materials and publications, students work interdisciplinarily to investigate historical contexts, ethical questions and digital methods of collection research. Results are presented in a final presentation and published in the Charité Medical History collection portal.
