IRIS@NUS – Internship and Research Immersion in Singapore

A fully funded research immersion programme lasting two to three months

Research Internship

An immersive research experience for exceptional undergraduate and master's students. Participants work with NUS faculty mentors on ongoing research projects using world-class facilities. The programme is fully funded and hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) Graduate School, open to students from ASEAN and around the world, with priority given to ASEAN and underrepresented nations.

Application

Deadline:
  • January 15, 2026
Criteria: Minimum 3.5 GPA (on 4.0 scale); full-time enrollment in a degree program; genuine research interest demonstrated; maintain student status throughout the programme; priority given to ASEAN and underrepresented nations
Required Degrees: Bachelor (at least 2 years completed), Master (at least 1 year completed)
Target Degrees: Bachelor, Master
Required Documents:
  1. Academic transcript
  2. CV (maximum two A4 pages)
  3. Personal statement on research experience and interests
  4. Two recommendation letters (preferably from faculty/supervisors)

Costs & Contact

Stipend: SGD 1,200/month + SGD 600 travel allowance + complimentary on-campus accommodation
