The ENHANCE Research Internship Programme is an academic initiative designed to strengthen research-based education and foster international mobility within the ENHANCE Alliance. This program offers PhD students and candidates from participating European universities the opportunity to undertake three-month research stays at partner institutions, including Gdańsk University of Technology, ETH Zurich, TU Berlin, RWTH Aachen, and others. The internship facilitates high-level academic collaboration by allowing participants to work under the dual guidance of two academic mentors—one from their home institution and one from the host university. These mentors support the development of internship proposals, provide research guidance throughout the stay, and evaluate the final outcomes of the research project. Applicants are required to submit a comprehensive research proposal that outlines their research topic justification, specific hypotheses, methodological framework, and expected learning outcomes. The program covers a diverse range of disciplines such as technical physics, applied mathematics, chemistry, civil and environmental engineering, electronics, telecommunications, informatics, mechanical engineering, ship technology, and management. Selection is based on a transparent ranking process conducted by the ENHANCE Research Internship Committee, which considers the quality and potential impact of the proposed research. Successful participants receive financial grants to support their mobility and are awarded an official certificate upon the positive evaluation of their final post-stay report. This initiative aims to enhance the participants' research skills, expand their professional networks, and contribute to the collective academic potential of the European University Alliance.
