Visiting Research Students

The Visiting Research Student scheme at Queen Mary University of London's Institute of Dentistry offers an opportunity for doctoral research students enrolled at other institutions to undertake a portion of their degree within the Institute. Participants are expected to be based at the Institute of Dentistry for research purposes, with a minimum registration period of two months and a maximum of one year. This scheme allows students to leverage the Institute's resources and academic environment to further their doctoral studies. Registered as Associate Students of the university, visiting researchers gain access to a comprehensive suite of facilities comparable to those provided to standard PhD students. These include access to the Institute of Dentistry's specific resources and activities, such as training sessions and research seminars, as well as the broader Queen Mary University of London library facilities at both Mile End and Whitechapel campuses. additionally, students can utilize electronic resources, computer facilities, wireless internet access, and dedicated hot-desk space, with locations determined by their supervisor's base. It is important to note that visiting research students are not eligible to apply for funding opportunities, including travel grants, conference support, or any form of studentships. The application process requires submission of academic transcripts, references, a CV, cover letter, a detailed research proposal, and English language qualifications.
