The Feinstein Institutes’ Summer Student Internship Program is an 8-week mentored research experience designed to provide current matriculated undergraduate college students with hands-on exposure to disease-oriented research. The program aims to familiarize participants with career opportunities in medical research. Up to 25 students are accepted, and they are matched with research faculty according to their stated institute of interest to work on ongoing research projects. In addition to conducting research, interns attend a series of specially designed workshops and seminars. The program culminates in a poster session where students present an academic poster summarizing their research findings to faculty and other students. High school students are not eligible for this program but may consider the Summer Visiting Scholar Program. Applicants must be current undergraduate students enrolled in U.S.-based colleges or universities with a demonstrated interest in medical research within STEM disciplines.
