The A. D. Trendall Fellowship, established in 2000, is a prestigious research opportunity offered by the Institute of Classical Studies. This fellowship is typically awarded in alternate years and is specifically designed for scholars affiliated with universities located outside the United Kingdom. Preference is given to applicants whose research interests align with those of Professor Trendall, particularly in the fields of ancient Italy and classical art history. The selected fellow is required to undertake a minimum six-week residency at the Institute of Classical Studies in London. During their stay, fellows are expected to propose and lead an event or training activity, fostering engagement with UK-based classical researchers, as well as the broader national and international subject communities. The fellowship provides an allowance of A 6000 to contribute towards travel and accommodation costs. Additionally, funding of up to A 1,000 is available to cover speakers' travel expenses for any proposed event or training activity. The Institute of Classical Studies also provides a room and appropriate catering for the duration of the fellowship. This program aims to support and promote international collaboration and scholarly exchange in classical studies.
