The Segal NYC Research Intern position with The 31 Women Collection is an opportunity to expand and preserve the legacy of Peggy Guggenheim’s groundbreaking 1943 “Exhibition by 31 Women” and its influential artists. Interns will assist in identifying and organizing archival and library resources related to the artists in this collection. Responsibilities include researching libraries, archives, and digital collections, compiling and organizing bibliographic and archival references, summarizing findings for curatorial use, and assisting in developing research guides and bibliographies. This program is open to current undergraduate or graduate students in fields such as Art History, Museum Studies, Library & Information Science, Women’s Studies, or related disciplines, who possess strong research and writing skills, familiarity with databases and archival resources, and an interest in women’s art history and archival work. The internship is work-study eligible, unpaid, and requires college credit, with a commitment of 16-20 hours per week for a semester. Participants gain hands-on experience in archival research, curatorial practices, and women’s art history, while developing professional research and writing skills applicable to a career in the field.
