The Ma’ayan Laboratory’s Summer Research Training Program in Biomedical Big Data Science is a research-intensive ten-week training program designed for undergraduate and master’s students. Participants are interested in engaging with cutting-edge research projects aimed at solving complex data-intensive biomedical problems. Summer fellows in the Ma’ayan Laboratory undertake faculty-mentored independent research projects focusing on key areas such as data harmonization, machine learning, cloud computing, and dynamic data visualization. The program provides direct research experience, offers an $8,000 salary for the ten-week training period, and facilitates interaction with computational experts from the Mount Sinai Center for Bioinformatics and Ma’ayan Laboratory members through structured weekly meetings, enriching lectures, and dedicated project presentation sessions. Eligibility is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are undergraduate or master’s students in good academic standing, available to work full-time (40 hours per week) on their research project, and can participate in all program activities. Ideal candidates are students majoring in Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry/Chemical Sciences, or Biological Sciences, demonstrating a keen interest in Biomedical Big Data Science.
