The MOTIVATE Research Lab at NYU Langone Health offers internship opportunities for qualified candidates passionate about obesity prevention and committed to research. This unpaid position is available through the Division of General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovation Research Internship Program. Interns gain valuable experience by contributing to critical healthcare issues and collaborating closely with a diverse, interdisciplinary research team. The program is suitable for undergraduates, recent graduates, or graduate students enrolled in health-related fields such as public health, health education, or psychology. Participants are expected to commit at least 10 hours per week for a minimum of one year and possess strong interpersonal, writing, and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Interns receive training and mentorship from senior team members, with potential opportunities to lead data analyses and author abstracts or manuscripts. They can also attend conferences and lectures at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System. Upon completion, interns may fulfill practicum requirements, earn academic credit (with prior discussion), or receive letters of recommendation. Former research team members have advanced to medical school, doctoral programs, postdoctoral programs, or paid research positions.
