The GSFS Global Research and Innovation Short Program (GSFS-GRIS) is a short-term initiative offered by the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS) at The University of Tokyo. It is specifically designed for undergraduate students currently enrolled in bachelor's degree programs at universities outside Japan. Participants in this program have the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research within GSFS laboratories, gaining practical experience and insights into advanced scientific fields. The program aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of the research opportunities available at GSFS, enable them to receive advice from GSFS professors on their own research, and offer research guidance as they consider future admission to GSFS. The program duration ranges from a minimum of 30 days to a maximum of 90 days, with the exact period determined through discussion between the participant and their assigned GSFS faculty supervisor. Participants must obtain unofficial approval from a GSFS faculty member before applying. The Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, located on the Kashiwa Campus, is a diverse academic environment comprising eleven departments and one educational program. Students accepted into the program are granted "Program Participant" status and receive a Certificate of Completion upon successful conclusion. All program activities are conducted in-person.
