The Research Internship@Keio-ST program is designed for students currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree programs at universities outside of Japan who are majoring in science, engineering, or related fields. The program enables participants to conduct research activities at Keio University's Graduate School of Science and Technology under the supervision of its faculty members. Interns are registered at Keio University as International Visiting Research Students, a non-regular, non-degree-seeking status, and receive a student ID card. While participants cannot attend lecture courses or receive official academic records or credits, they gain access to the Keio University Media Center, one of Japan's renowned university libraries. The program offers a flexible research period, ranging from one to four months, with the possibility of extension, though extension requires re-payment of the program fee. Applicants must secure permission from a prospective academic advisor before applying and must remain enrolled at their home institution for the entire duration of their research at Keio University, as the program cannot accommodate students on a gap year or post-graduation.
